About Soundtrap: Soundtrap is a cloud-based digital audio workstation (DAW) that is reimagining how music and podcasts are created. Made by music producers, songwriters, and audio experts, our goal is to help you unlock your creative potential.
About the role
At Soundtrap, we strive to make music creation and podcast production simple and accessible to everyone. We are now looking for an Education Specialist to join our dedicated US EDU team.
Soundtrap is a cloud-based audio recording platform that makes it easy for creators to produce music, podcasts, and other audio projects, right in the browser.
Our education platform, Soundtrap for Education, is used by thousands of schools and districts worldwide to give K-12 students the ability to create, tell stories, and explore with sound. Through collaboration, creativity, and access to professional tools, we give the next generation a voice.
As our Education Specialist, you are the on-the-ground half of a proven engagement model. Our districts renew because someone trains their teachers, runs events their students remember, and shows up in the building when it counts. You will develop and deliver our professional development program for district partners nationwide, run onboarding and training for newly licensed schools, and co-execute activations, camps, mobile studio events, and the SoCal Beat Battle alongside our Strategic Accounts and Partnerships Lead, including a career readiness initiative reaching thousands of young people.
The role suits you if you left the classroom but never stopped wanting to be around students and teachers, and you like a week that mixes virtual training, school-site visits, and a hands-on event day that ends with students performing something they made.
What you will do
Develop and deliver our professional development program for district partners nationwide, customizing every session to the district's goals, subjects, and stage of rollout. Some virtual, some in-person. Travel required up to 30%.
Build the PD program itself as it grows: session catalog, resources, delivery standards, and paid engagements as demand scales.
Run onboarding for newly licensed schools: teacher training, LMS setup, rostering, and launch support.
Provide core lifecycle support for accounts so account executives can spend their time selling instead of servicing.
Co-execute on-the-ground engagement across our largest West Coast accounts and community programs: activations, camps, mobile studio deployments, and the SoCal Beat Battle, including setup, facilitation, and teardown.
Support delivery and documentation of a corporate-funded career readiness initiative: rosters, attendance, and outcome evidence.
Help account executives adopt our engagement playbook: what to run with an account, when, and how.
Identify growth opportunities and work alongside territory managers to uncover new avenues for seat expansion.
Track delivery, usage, and follow-ups, and flag at-risk accounts early.
Who you are
A former classroom teacher, with music, arts, or CTE experience preferred. You have instant credibility with teachers because you have been one.
Deeply comfortable with audio technology: DAWs, audio production, beat-making, and podcasting. You can teach it because you actually use it.
Connected: you bring an existing network of school-site and district relationships and the instincts to grow one.
Experienced in designing and delivering professional development for school districts, not just one-off demos.
A skilled and engaging presenter with strong communication skills, virtual and in person.
Willing to travel, including some evenings and weekends when needed, and are comfortable with the physical side of events.
Nice to have: familiarity with LMS and rostering ecosystems (Schoology, Canvas, Google Classroom, Clever, ClassLink), knowledge of VAPA and Arts, Media and Entertainment CTE pathways, event production experience, and basic CRM hygiene.
Where you will work
The location for this role is Southern California based. Expect a mix of virtual delivery to districts nationwide and regular on-the-ground work at school sites and events, with travel as part of the job.
With us, you get to work in an innovative environment with a strong team spirit, where your contribution makes a real difference. If you are passionate about helping teachers bring creative and meaningful learning tools into their classrooms, we would love to hear from you!
