Business Analyst at Soundtrap
Would you like to apply your analytical skills to innovate the way people make music?
We’re looking for a talented Business Analyst to join our team at Soundtrap, a cloud-based music creation platform that supports real-time collaboration across devices. We serve both individual creators and schools that use Soundtrap in the classroom. Great musicians - established or not - shouldn't need to be tech-savvy in audio engineering, so we make it easy for anyone to focus on creativity without the technical complexities of traditional music creation tools.
At Soundtrap, data drives our decisions. You’ll collaborate with other analysts, user researchers, product managers, and business teams to enhance the user experience. You’ll help uncover insights that improve features and shape the user journey. To succeed in this position, you need strong analytical skills, general business acumen and a collaborative mindset.
What you'll do
- Work closely with cross-functional teams of analysts, user researchers, product managers, designers, and engineers who are passionate about our product experience.
- Analyze large datasets with SQL to uncover insights that influence product and business decisions.
- Share data-driven insights through visualizations and presentations.
- Support teams with dashboards and exploratory analysis.
- Set up, monitor, and analyze experiments.
- Define metrics and build data pipelines with the data and analysis team.
Who you are
We're looking for a driven and curious mind who's not afraid to take on unsolved challenges. Your toolbox should include:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, finance, engineering, statistics, mathematics, economics, or another quantitative subject area.
- 0-2 years of work experience in analytics, finance, consulting, or a related field.
- Excited about solving business problems. You actively seek them out and bring the right tool once found, rather than focusing on the tools you already know.
- Experience in analyzing and summarizing data using SQL.
- Experience with data visualization and enthusiasm for building dashboards.
- Basic understanding of Python for data analysis, or an interest in learning.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to craft compelling and clear narratives using data and insights.
- Comfortable working with distributed teams across multiple offices and time zones.
- Professional and/or academic experience using data to influence business decisions.
- Familiarity with, or interest in learning tools like dbt (data build tool), BigQuery, and Tableau.
- A strong passion for music, experience in music production, and/or experience in the music industry is highly valued but not required.
If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every qualification, we still encourage you to apply. Research shows that women and other underrepresented groups tend to hesitate when they don’t meet all the criteria, but we believe diverse teams build better products. We strongly believe that diversity of experience, perspectives, and backgrounds will lead to a better environment for our employees and a better product for our users and creators. Come be a part of changing the way the world creates music!
For this position we prefer if you are based in Stockholm where our office is located and the majority of our team sits. However, if you are very independent and used to working remotely, you can also be located in Denmark, Germany, Italy, Spain or France.
